Spring certification has come and gone. It was a well-attended event and a success for club members who passed their yearly inspection. A change in testing format, made by the board, helped keep everything running smoothly and avoided some issues experienced in the past.

Good work to everyone who attended.

Several club members recently attended a daylong CPR training course. It is good to have this training included in our organization, and members have been very conscientious about the necessary requirements and attend classes every couple of years.

The Valley Mounted Volunteers will be involved in several public events this year. Some new and some we have done in the past. We will once again be monitoring the campgrounds at Lifest. This will be our fourth year at the event, people there love the horses and we spend a lot of time in conversation and promoting good will between horses and the participants.

We have been invited back to monitor the parking grounds in Greenville again this year. We patrolled the area last year during their concert in August. The music was loud, but it did not seem to bother the horses at all. With us on horseback, we are very visible and many people sought us out to help find friends and their vehicles. Our presence there must of made a difference in solving a few problems the organizers experienced in the past, and we are glad to be asked to return.

July will be a very busy month for us, as we have also been asked to monitor the parking sites on the Outagamie County Fairgrounds this year. This is a large operation to undertake and as we are a small club, we are going to be working with members from the Broken Wheel Riding Club. This will be a new venture for everyone involved, but I’m sure we’ll all work together to get things done. So look for us when you are out and about this summer, we wont be to hard to see.
