The start of the club’s 2009 horse shows was wet. The show was held May 9-10 at the Fond du Lac Fairgrounds. Friday night, May 8, it poured and poured. The morning was windy and still a little wet. When the rain stopped, about 9 a.m., the show started. The judge for Saturday’s show as Denise Nechvatal. All of the contestants and horses were ready. They worked around the puddles and all went well.
The winners from Saturday’s show are Grand Champion Western Halter Horse was Miss Credibility, and reserve was Chuckles High Sierra. Other winners were Tiny Tot Showmanship, Ashlund Moericke, showing Miss Elegant Print; and Western Lead Line, Cassie Burke, riding Goldenly Redeemed.
Sunday’s show had a better start. The sun tried to stay around for most of the day. Sunday’s judge was Janet Johnson. Winners from Sunday’s show were Grand Champion English Halter Horse, Stanley; and reserve, Suzanne’s Ameer Salem; Open Driving, Eli, shown by Andy Halbach; and English Lead Line, Samantha Horning, riding Corona.
Weekend high-point winners were Tiny Tot, Lauren Bohn; Jr. Jr., Crystal Peterman; Jr., Katie Bares; and Sr., Hilary Puksich.
The club’s next show will be held June 14 at Horseshoe Springs Ranch, Fond du Lac. The last show is a two-day show that will include Futurity classes. It will be held Aug. 29-30 at the Fond du Lac Fairgrounds.
